Your Wife Is A Vital Key To Your Success & Growth In Life – Choose Wisely!
This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. This is the day of joy and salvation, and I trust that you and yours have started it on a great note, too.
I’ve been pretty occupied lately as preparations for the year-end holidays are in full gear. However, I have also been quite keen on knowing what God would have me share with you today, and the message today is mainly for our younger men who are yet to be married – and the ladies, too.
The Prophet Amos said: “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” – Amos 3:3. While many are always quick to quote this particular passage when trying to counsel young and intending couples, not everyone sees the depth of what God is saying here through Amos.
What does this “agreement” signify and fully stand for? Is it only about the consent a lady is required to give to her man’s proposal and her acceptance to be with him till death do them part? Well, I want to tell you today that it is not, and I also trust God to help us see a hidden truth here clearly.
While the “agreement” Amos talks about in this passage involves an affirmative answer to all those questions I asked above, it extends beyond that into some much more profound questions that also need to be asked and answered in the affirmative. These include questions like: What are your life goals – short, mid, and long term? What are your financial goals? How ambitious are you – mentally, financially, spiritually, and even physically? Are you always content with the barest average, or would you rather only have the best always? How many children do you plan to have? What is your stand on infidelity and polygamy? What is your view and perspective on divorce?
So many other deep questions like these need to be asked and sorted out before a final commitment to that union is made, or else there is grave danger lurking in the future, especially for the man. Why?
“And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” – Genesis 2:18.
Now, what do you think will befall a man who unsuspectingly or stubbornly marries a woman who is wrong for him? A man’s partner greatly determines what he will become in every area of his life and how far he will go in it, too. Remember what the scriptures say in Ecclesiastes 4?
“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?
And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9-12.
It is bad enough for any man that falls when he is alone, but I also assure you that it is even more terrible for any man that falls when he is with the wrong woman and wife in his life! Great men like Samson, Ahab, and the like can attest to how deadly it can be when you find yourself hitched to the wrong woman for life.
My dear young ones, don’t just marry because your intended partner is beautiful, sexy, and has an hourglass figure. Can that person you’re pining for help you with ideas and solutions when your business is down or is she only good for the gram as a slay queen? Does she have strengths that compliments your weaknesses, or she’s only a bundle of flaws and a total liability?
Your partner should have the same philosophy and be someone who can align with your goals in life. Your partner must be someone you can join forces with to build, not a weak link you have to drag along your whole life continually.
Such a life is burdensome, tiring, extremely sad, and completely far from what God’s plans and desires are for your life, my darling brothers (and sisters, too), and I want to urge you today to do everything within your power to avoid this life and destiny-wrecking mistake, please!
May God grant you great grace, calmness, wisdom, and peace as you seek out that help-meet and suitable for your lives, and may HE cause every deception and evil illusion before you be destroyed and your paths made straight, in the name of Jesus Christ; Amen!
Remain richly blessed always.
