THE WOMAN WHO BROKE THREE RECORDS – KAMALA HARRIS

In the past, many factors had been identified as inhibiting women’s upwardly mobile aspirations such as culture and marriage.

However, women have been challenged in recent times by prevailing circumstances to rise to the occasion.

Many women have endeavored to translate the concepts of their dreams into actualities. Women like Okonjo Iweala of Nigeria, Jane Fraser of the United States, Nicke Widyawati of Indonesia, Ho Ching of Singapore among others.

Only recently, the African American-born unicorn who has distinguished herself as Attorney General in California and Senator in America from 2017 to 2021 has made a giant stride and became America’s 46th vice president.

In her new role as 49th Vice President of the United States of America, Kamala D. Harris set three records as the first South Asian American Vice President of the USA, the first Black Vice President of the USA, and the first female Vice President of the USA.

She hopes that her experience and Vice Presidency will inspire future generations to follow their dreams.

“To the children of our country, regardless of your gender, our country has sent you a clear message: Dream with ambition, lead with conviction, and see yourself in a way that others might not see you, simply because they’ve never seen it before. And we will applaud you every step of the way,” Harris said during her Vice President-elect Acceptance Speech.

Women have shown they can excel in professions which were thought to be the exclusive preserves of men in the arts, sciences, politics, engineering, entertainment and many others.

Given more opportunities as expected, the world requires the joint effort and contributions of both men and women to be better.

Madam Kamala Harris has proven that women can achieve a lot if properly motivated.
