Two Unhealthy Things Every Family Must Get Rid Of To Ensure Lasting Unity In The Home

Two Unhealthy Things Every Family Must Get Rid Of To Ensure Lasting Unity In The Home

The family is considered as the smallest unit of every society, and the quality of each family and home in a community more than often defines the quality of everything in that environment.

Hence, building and raising a great, loving, faithful, diligent, honest, empathetic, and humane family is not good for yourself alone but for the entire world around you.

We all must get it right from this important foundational block of every society, and the surest way to do this is to raise quality children who are bonded in genuine love, respect, and support for one another.

How can you achieve this? While they are quite a few other factors and things to look out for and work on consistently, here are 2 things every family must eradicate to ensure that there is lasting peace, love, and unity in the home:

(1) Envy.

We cannot ignore or try to downplay the fact that sibling rivalry is a natural factor in virtually every home where there are two or more children.

However, we implore parents and guardians to do all they can to ensure that this rivalry is a healthy one where the children motivate and inspire one another in all they do. It shouldn’t be the type where they maliciously try to outdo me another in everything they’re involved in.

Such unhealthy rivalry breeds envy, and envy, when left unchecked to fester in a person’s heart, can breed terrible actions, including murder! Remember Cain and his brother, Abel?

(2) Bitterness, Malice, And Grudges.

Don’t ever have or encourage children that do not talk to one another because they got into an argument or fight.

Teach and train them from their very early days to never hold grudges with anyone and to never keep malice in their hearts. This way, they will live a life free of bitterness, which is the ultimate end-product of keeping malice and holding grudges against people.

Show your children and wards the way of love, and ensure that they know how vital and very expedient it is to their lives and existence, both as a family and as individuals, too.

When your home is built and raised on these principles and genuine love, the society, and indeed the whole world, around you, is blessed…and so are you, too!

Remain blessed always.

True Leaders Raise Men, Not Tear Them Down!

True Leaders Raise Men, Not Tear Them Down!

Good leaders are not afraid to let the spotlight fall on those behind them because they know that the growth of their followers is their glory! They give people behind the platforms avenues and opportunities to grow, shine, and continue to excel because they know that this is what true leadership is all about!

A true leader is always patient, tolerant, and always endures. A good leader should never be quick to give up on people. Instead, they should always be there to lift their followers when they fall and be quick to encourage them constantly.

As you go through life, too, in any situation you may be in today, stop looking down on yourself or believing you’re not worthy because of your past errors and flaws.

Never say: “I’m not good enough,” and stop thinking about what people would say about you. Stop hiding! You can do it! Nobody started perfectly in life. Practice makes perfection, and you will get better if you don’t quit because nobody is useless!

Don’t ever give up on yourself before trying. And, even if you don’t get it right the first time you try, keep at it and never quit. It can only get better, and you will continue to grow along till you attain perfection at it.

Also, never take any opportunities that come your way for granted! Prepare yourself always, and be ready to take your chances when they come along. Remember: Luck is defined as the situation when an opportunity comes to a prepared person.

The world calls it “luck,” but the universe sees otherwise. Be wise, prudent, and diligent in all you do!

Odogwu Tadeniawo Collins…you have started well and you can only continue to grow and get better. Remain blessed always.

Ana eji uche eme ihe!

9 Very Bad Reasons To Want To Get Married – Key Things You Must Avoid!

9 Very Bad Reasons To Want To Get Married – Key Things You Must Avoid!

Getting married can be a beautiful thing, except when the decision to marry is based on the
wrong reasons. Before you say “Yes, I do” to that person, are you sure you’re doing it for the right reasons? And do you also know that leadership starts from home?

Recent studies and statistics have proven that, all too often, many couples have decided to marry for the wrong reasons and are now stuck in miserable situations.

Sometimes, girls start feeling left out when their friends start getting married and fear that they may never get married. So, they hurriedly accept any proposal that comes their way, but, my dear – is he really the one for you?

If you decide to marry someone for the following reasons, you may end up paying a huge price in the long run. Be careful and consider things thoughtfully and thoroughly about why you want to get married.

God has a perfect love story for you – don’t mess it up by deciding to marry someone that is not the right one for you. If you are honest with yourself, you will know if this one is the right one for you or not.

If you see yourself in any of these nine reasons listed below, take your time to work through each problem area before you say, “I Do.”

1. You want to get married because everyone else is getting married. It’s not a competition! Do not be in a hurry to jump into marriage; else, you will soon jump out of it hurriedly, too.

2. You want to get married because you are afraid to be alone. My dear, there is an emptiness inside you that needs to be filled by God. Until you’re comfortable and fulfilled being alone, you can’t feel otherwise living with someone else! You have to be single and whole.

3. You want to get married because you want someone to support you. You want to use the man or woman to find your bearings and establish yourself. If you’re getting into marriage to take, that’s parasitic, wrong, and very unfair to your partner.

4. You want to get married to get out of your parents’ house. Guess what, though? After running away from your parents’ house, you have fulfilled the wrong reason, and you will pay a steep price.

5. Do you want to get married because you are pregnant? The fact that you are pregnant does not mean you should consolidate the mistake by making another one! They might not be the right person for you, so don’t rush into a permanent arrangement because of a temporary setback and situation.

6. You want to get married to make someone jealous. Marriage is not a tool for fighting, my dear – please grow up!

7. You want to get married because you are simply dying to plan your dream wedding. Magnifying your wedding at the expense of the marriage itself is too bad and silly to do.

8. You want to get married because you are desperate to be a bride, wear a beautiful dress, open lots of presents, and go on a dream honeymoon. Hmmm…the question is: What then becomes of you afterward?

9. You want to get married because you want to feel special. This is another childish reason, and it is also not good at all.

Far too many times in our politically correct world, our family, friends, and other people we know fail to share important truths that need to be shared. Someone may instinctively know that you are marrying for the wrong reasons but won’t tell you anything because they don’t want you to be mad at them.

Perhaps they don’t want to create a rift in their relationship with you, so they remain silent.

Whatever you do, please do not marry wrongly – the pain and regret are unparalleled!

3 Signs That Your Leader May Be Leading You Astray

3 Signs That Your Leader May Be Leading You Astray

Leadership is one of the most important and delicate things in every society and the lives of everyone within such spheres.

It is not something to be trifled with or decided with any form of bias, undue influence, or sentiments. If you follow or subject yourself to be under bad leadership, your end may not be as delightful and successful as you hope it would be.

A person that cannot be corrected when they’re wrong, and is so set on their ways is a disaster waiting to happen, as Gen. Sani Abacha was to Nigeria!

When a blind person acts as a guide on the road to other blind persons, we all know that it’s only a matter of time before they all end up in a ditch, don’t we?

Leaders have the power to determine the way the destinies of everyone under the sphere of their influence would end up. Hence, it is very important that you don’t follow or choose to be under any leader who exhibits or has any of the following traits:

(1) They have no one they follow or submit to.

One of the most outstanding traits of a good leader is that they are superb followers first, before anything else.

You cannot lead if you can’t follow, and anyone who refuses to subject themselves to any authority above them and follow diligently is not fit to lead others. Beware of such people and friends around you, and never allow them to suck you into their circle.

Virtually every leader that has ever ruled and shaped the affairs of this world has one thing in common – they were diligent, exemplary, and loyal followers of someone else before the mantle of leadership was passed on to them eventually.

(2) They are incorrigible.

No matter what your relationship may be with anyone, if you ever notice this trait, you would do well to start taking steps to cut them off from your life entirely.

A person that doesn’t listen to others, cannot be corrected when they’re wrong, and is so set on their ways is a disaster waiting to happen!

Such people would keep making terrible and uninformed decisions because they refuse to heed the voice of reasoning around them. Following a leader like this can only result in disaster, as they will surely lead you astray.

(3) They lack self-control.

Any good leader must be a master of their emotions, will, desires, and reactions. They must not be someone who has no self-control regarding money, anger, or the opposite sex.

A person that aspires to lead and have rule over others must first exhibit concrete control over themselves before the destinies of countless other people can be entrusted to them.

If any of these signs are present in whoever it is you’re currently following, we would advise that you have a rethink and start cutting off from such leaders.

A leader should inspire, build, motivate, and show you how to be better and do better every day. Do not settle for anything lesser than this.

Meet Elizabeth Marami – Kenya’s first female Marine Pilot And Motivational Figure

Meet Elizabeth Marami – Kenya’s first female Marine Pilot And Motivational Figure

Born Elizabeth W. Marami and raised in Kenya, Elizabeth made history in 2014 by becoming the first female Marine Pilot in Kenya after passing her International Unlimited 2nd Mate License examination.

Elizabeth, 33, is now a Second officer in command on board the merchant navy foreign going ships at the Kenya Ports Authority, First Officer at Celebrity Cruises Inc, and the founder of an online platform called “Against the Tide.”

The media platform is a “colorful, pen-your-story style of blog” that aims to inspire other women and advocate for SDG 5 in the seafaring sector by sharing stories of female seafarers across the globe.

According to her: “Working in a male-dominated industry has had its challenges, including earning the respect of senior management as a female professional. I have had those who have accepted me, helped me become better, and there have been some rejections that stung so hard I almost gave up, but overall I’d say I have certainly grown a thick skin.”

In 2013, Elizabeth obtained her BSc. Nautical Technology, at the Arab Academy for Science Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria, Egypt. In 2014, she aced the International Unlimited 2nd Mate license examination, making her the first female marine pilot in Kenya at age 25, and is now pursuing an MBA in Operations Management at the University of Nairobi. She also holds a certificate in Maritime Studies from Hochschule Bremen in Germany.

Elizabeth is very passionate about mentorship, and she has several platforms and initiatives in Kenya, Africa, where she reaches out to her target communities. These include the Girl Education Challenge (GEC), Kenya, which aims to help the world’s poorest girls improve their lives through education. The organization also seeks to create better means of getting girls into school and ensure that they get the kind of quality education that can transform and secure their future.

She is also part of an organization called Akili Dada, which aims to nurture transformative leadership in girls and young women from underprivileged backgrounds.

There is also the KUZA Project in Kenya’s second-largest city, Mombasa. This movement seeks to encourage sustainable job creation and productivity and also address selected root causes of youth unemployment in the city.

Elizabeth has served as a Brand Endorser with Proctor & Gamble in Kenya on the Always Sanitary Pad campaign “Stand Up and Keep Girls in School Campaign.” The initiative sought to highlight the plight of girls who have to miss school due to a lack of sanitary pads.

She is also the Kenyan National Coordinator for Women in Maritime in Africa (WIMA), and she was listed in the Business Daily’s “Kenya Top 40 Under 40 Woman” back in 2015.

Happiness Is A Place You Choose To Go Daily – Be Happy Always!

Happiness Is A Place You Choose To Go Daily – Be Happy Always!

“Even if happiness forgets you a little bit, never completely forget about it.” —Jaques Prevert

There is a part of the history of humankind that will forever live on in the hearts of those who constantly have deep reflections on nature, history, and events around them.

At a time when there truly was no logical reason ever to be happy, the enslaved Black people back in the days before slavery was abolished used to be known for their ultra-soulful singing.

Those “negros”, as they were racially tagged, somehow always found a way to keep their spirits alive inside them, and one of them was singing and great music.

You see, life will come at you like a violent hurricane many times, and it would seem like happiness itself has forsaken you. Never completely forget about it, though.

No matter what you’re faced with, always look for the silver lining and set your face to the end of that tunnel (experience) because there will always be light there.

Find that thing that always brings a smile to your face, no matter how little, and keeps hold of it jealously. Happiness is a place you choose to go to and be at daily. Not because life gives you reasons to be, but because you choose to be!

There will always be reasons to cave in and wallow in misery; life is a relentless tester and breaker of man’s will. Even amid all the trials, temptations, and tribulations, you can always decide to be happy, and things will work out for you if you maintain that stand.

Life is way too short to be sad and miserable when you could decide otherwise, you know? Choose to be happy always, and you will be!

JACOB ZUMA: FORMER SOUTH AFRICAN PRESIDENT SENTENCED TO 15 MONTHS IN PRISON.

JACOB ZUMA: FORMER SOUTH AFRICAN PRESIDENT SENTENCED TO 15 MONTHS IN PRISON.

Jacob Zuma turns himself in to South African police. The former president drops defiance to begin 15-month sentence for snubbing anti-corruption investigators. I wondered if this can happen in Nigeria with so many corrupt leaders who believe that they are above the law.

Jacob Zuma, former South African president, turned himself in to police on Wednesday to begin 15 months in jail for contempt of court, the culmination of a long legal drama seen as a test of the country’s ability to enforce the rule of law.

Police spokesperson Lirandzu Themba confirmed in a statement that Zuma, who was president from 2009 – 2018, was in police custody, in compliance with last week’s Constitutional Court ruling.

The court sentenced Zuma to 15 months in prison for defying an order in February to give evidence at an inquiry examining corruption during the nine years that he was president. The inquiry is led by Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo. The former president maintains that he is the victim of a political witchhunt and that Zondo is biased against him.

The law shouldn’t be a respecter of persons in any country, both the President and the peasant should be subject to the laws of the land. After all laws are made to check human excesses and to protect our rights to avoid chaos.

Jacob Zuma, the former South African President commenced his prison sentence yesterday, he spent his first night in jail.

When leaders have the understanding that there will be a consequence for every action while in office, they’ll sit up and act wisely. But is the president of Nigeria acting wisely? His UNLAWFUL actions are too numerous to count, ranging from the kidnapping of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from Kenya, to the unlawful invasion of Sunday Igboho’s residence and so many other killings of the citizens of Nigeria under his command and watch.

Nigerian leaders should take note; anything is possible. Nobody is above the law. It may take time but Justice will prevail.
