God Answers Prayers In Unattractive Ways – Don’t Lose Faith And Never Stop Praying!

“But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” – Hebrews ‭11:6‬.

Hello, my beloved people. How has your weekend been? This scripture above took over my mind as I thought about what to share with you all today.

I believe that there is someone here that God wants to gift something truly magnificent, but you’re struggling with accepting and embracing it because it is not in the physical “package” or “finished product” you want.

My dear, please don’t make the mistake of following God with your human mind. There is absolutely no way you can ever comprehend or understand his ways with your reasoning!

This is why HE demands that all who would follow and walk with HIM must do so by faith! You must never stop asking, trusting, and believing that HE has the best in store for you, and HE will give it to you because HE wants to!

God answers prayers in unattractive ways and seemingly flawed packages for many reasons. Today, I want to talk about two of them below, and I pray you to follow diligently and find the strength you need in HIS Word here.

(1) God wants you to trust HIM enough to know and believe that HE can never fail you or give you something less than excellent and perfect for you!

God has spoken and even promised severally in HIS Word that HIS thoughts towards us are good and not evil and to bring us to our expected end (Jeremiah 29:11). The challenge many of us have is that we do not trust HIM enough to take care of us.

If you’re in a place today where you’re battling with what you think is good for you and the apparent choice God has laid in your spirit and also confirmed with witnesses (remember 2 Corinthians 13:1?), I need you to stop for a second and think – Can you ever be wiser or smarter than God?

Besides, hasn’t HE also promised all HIS children: “For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.” – Proverbs ‭23:18‬. So, why are you still bothered and struggling with HIS leading and instructions?

In all honesty, it is never easy to follow God’s Word and lead completely; I know, and I’m not pretending or denying that it is. However, I am assuring you that life is most beautiful whenever you yield yourself completely and follow HIM!

Yes, that thing will or may not look like what you want initially. But, if HE led you and gave it to you, have faith, trust HIM, go through whatever process that thing may require, and you will end up with a gem that the entire world will covet and desire from you on your hands!

(2) It’s HIS way of building our faith in HIM, and there’s a track record of this all through the lineage of faith.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” – ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:8-9‬.‬

Do you remember when Pharaoh had a disturbing dream, and all his magicians and wise men failed to give him any relief? Where did the peace he, and indeed the whole world, needed come from? Potiphar’s dungeon! Oh, and he was a Hebrew boy, too – one race that Egyptians detest so much and cannot hide their contempt for!

Remember when Israel had prayed that God sends them a mighty deliverer who would free them from slavery in the hands of the great Pharaoh for over 400 years? Guess who came along – a lean-looking stammerer who could barely put five words together by himself without stuttering, baring a shepherd’s staff. Ridiculous, isn’t it?

Israel’s champion and deliverer from the hands of the mighty Goliath was a ruddy 17-year-old boy who had never been to war or even a battle before in his entire life, remember?

Or what about when they longed for the Messiah and great king who would free them from Roman tyranny, and the Saviour just had to come in a manger and even as a lowly carpenter’s son too!

The list is endless, but from how all these few instances ended, I hope you already get my point. God knows exactly what you need, and HE will give you the very best.

Your part is to pray without ceasing “until your joy is full,” HE says: “Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” – ‭‭John‬ ‭16:24‬. ‬

How HE will do it is not your business. Your part is never to stop asking and persisting in prayers for what you desire (according to HIS will, too, though), and HE will come through for you.

God loves you with everlasting love, and HE wants the best for you always. Don’t quit and never get frustrated over human or physical appearances and situations. God’s got you covered!

Heavenly Father, please help your children always to know that all you want for them is the best in all things, and help them to keep their minds rested on you in all things, in Jesus Christ’s holy name; Amen.

Enyinnaya Onuegbu Promoted Or Demoted By Hope Uzodinma?

I hadn’t wanted to react to the reappointment of my good friend and brother, Barr Enyinnaya Onuegbu.

Would I say I received the news with mixed feelings? Should I congratulate a man who has been demoted? That has been the major inner battle I had to contend with before I decided to put pen to paper.

To some people, the reappointment of Barr Enyinnaya Onuegbu into the cabinet of Senator Hope Uzodinma is a welcome development.

For them, at least Enyinnaya is not outside anymore and can now be getting some stipend from the governor.

Then I wonder, is Enyinnaya that desperate or low in cash that he would take anything just to be in power, least of all a position abandoned by Batos Nwadike?

I’m not saying that Enyinnaya would not do very well as Uzodinma’s political adviser; he would do perfectly well in any position he finds himself.

Barr Enyinnaya Onuegbu is one of the smartest people to have ever worked with Senator Hope Uzodinma.

But for me, the position of an SA is a demotion for a man who once held Commissioner positions in the Uzodinma administration and once upon a time had the governor’s ear before those who felt threatened by his rising profile probably conspired and kicked him out of office.

I remember those electioneering days when Enyinnaya was always on national TV, projecting Senator Hope Uzodinma.

He was practically Uzodinma’s legal and media figure and did a great deal in endearing the people to a rather unpopular Uzodinma.

When nobody stepped up, it was Enyinna that took the bull by the horn and clamped down on property looted by Okorocha.

Of course, his rising profile caught the eyes of the Douglas House cabal headed by Chinasa, who wouldn’t stand anybody being a competition to the love he enjoys from Uzodinma; hence Enyinnaya had to go.

Probably the same thing that happened to Innocent Ikpamezie, who once bragged that he was one of five people in Imo State who would speak and Uzodinma would listen.

I remember Enyinnaya once aspired for the Federal House of Representatives even though Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha stopped him when he was in PDP. What prevents Uzodinma from pushing Enyinnaya for that position, knowing he enjoys the love and affection of his people of Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency?

Taking somebody from a Commissioner position to an SA position, as demeaning and degrading as that is, Enyinnaya’s acceptance, if you ask me, spells a form of desperation that “at all at all make I manage this one rather than not eat at all.”

Hope Uzodinma, popularly known as the Supreme Court Governor of Imo State, Nigeria. Imolites strongly believe that he was not elected by them but imposed on them.

If my dear brother Barr Enyinnaya Onuegbu feels I should congratulate him for his appointment, then I hereby extend a reluctant congratulations to him but stating emphatically that Uzodinma should have done better for a man who has always remained solidly behind him.

Russia Allegedly Received “Substantial Swap Offer” From The US For Brittney Griner Since June But Have Refused To Bulge!

The United States of America Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently announced that the USA has officially opened prisoner swap talks with Russia for jailed WNBA star Brittney Griner and former Marine Paul Whelan, who has also been detained in Russia since 2018 on charges of espionage.

Anthony reportedly disclosed that the prisoner swap is supposed to include convicted Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, who is popularly known as the “Merchant Of Death.”

However, during the disclosure made after Brittney’s last appearance in court on July 27, 2022, Anthony also revealed that Washington had made this “significant trade offer” for the basketball star “months after she was arrested in Moscow airport for allegedly carrying hashish oil.”

Although the US Department of Justice is allegedly kicking against the reported swap plan because it is against its policy to trade prisoners, it has received the blessing and full backing of President Joe Biden.

“We communicated a substantial offer that we believe could be successful based on a history of conversations with the Russians. We expressed that a number of weeks ago, in June.

It is now in Russia’s court to be responsive to it, yet at the same time, that does not leave us passive, as we continue to communicate the offer at very senior levels,” Anthony said.

Former Marine Paul Whelan, who has also been detained in Russia since 2018 on charges of espionage, is also included in the prisoner swap.

There has been considerable pressure on the White House by the families of Brittney and Paul to secure their release at any cost possible, and Washington had maintained that getting them out has been a top priority.

Many other Americans do not share the optimism of going through with this prisoner swap, though, as they feel it would “paint a target on the backs of American citizens worldwide, and incentivize their arrest and kidnapping.”

This view was expressed by Republican Representative Mike Waltz, who also spoke to reporters on July 27, 2022, after Anthony’s announcement.

According to Mike, “authoritarian governments will increasingly see Americans abroad as bargaining chips amid U.S. officials seeking a deal with Russia for the release of imprisoned WNBA player Brittney Griner.”

The prisoner swap has already been sanctioned by POTUS, and all that is left is seemingly in the hands of the Russians.

While it is excellent news that the Biden administration has finally done more than talk about bringing Brittney and Paul home, the disturbing part is that Moscow is reenacting “Cold War” tactics on the deal by being quiet on the swap offer!

It doesn’t look like Russia wants to go ahead with the proposed prisoner swap haven reportedly received the proposal in June 2022 and kept mute about it.

This could be a ploy for Moscow to squeeze more out of Washington on the deal, though, so we can all only but wait and see where they are headed with this present “cold shoulder” treatment.

From all indications, there will be no easy way out of this for Brittney, as it is reported that there can be no exchange for her until her trial is over.

According to her lawyers, on July 27, 2022, there is hope that the nightmare trial will be over in early August 2022, but that’s not for them to decide, though. Whatever the Russians are up to with her detention, they may choose to frustrate the Americans by prolonging the trial till whenever pleases them.

Whichever way it goes, the WNBA star is the one who gets to suffer for it as she waits in detention till the trial is over.

This serves as a reminder to everyone to always walk circumspectly and be extra careful with the way we live and the things we do, especially whenever we’re leaving or not within our comfort or influence zones!

Living well and doing the right thing always shouldn’t also be restricted to whenever you’re in your sphere of influence, too, though.

This is because what you do consistently becomes a part of your subconscious mind; hence you will end up repeating those things unknowingly, even in places you may never mean to, as Brittney did with the vape cartridges “accidentally left” in her luggage.

Brittney Griner Finally Testifies In Drug Charge Trial – Is The White House Doing Enough For Her?

The world eventually got to witness American WNBA superstar Brittney Griner’s long-awaited testimony in the drug trafficking trial against her in a Moscow court on July 27, 2022, in Russia, as she faces the possibility of spending 10 years in prison if convicted.

Appearing in a black Nike “Phoenix Basketball” hooded sweater, Brittney was flanked by Russian security personnel as she made her way to the courtroom, which was already teeming with scores of newsmen and reporters.

American WNBA superstar Brittney Griner finally testified in the drug trafficking trial against her in a Moscow court on July 27, 2022.

The day’s session opened with her cross-examination by the defense counsel, who has repeatedly argued that Brittney “packed her bags quickly and didn’t intend to bring the vape canisters into Russia.”

They’ve also previously tried to establish that the basketball star “uses medicinal marijuana to help with injury pain like many other international athletes.”

While recreational and medicinal cannabis is legal in many American states, they are prohibited in Russia. Brittney was arrested at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport after Russian authorities reportedly found vape canisters with cannabis oil in her luggage in February 2022.

The basketball star facing the possibility of 10 years in prison if convicted said that she was made to sign documents they refused to translate to her at the airport.

During her cross-examination, Brittney recounted the events that transpired on the day she arrived and was arrested and detained by security at the Moscow airport on February 17, 2022.

She also disclosed that she was not allowed to call or speak to her lawyers till the next day, was never read her rights, and was made to sign some documents she did not understand. According to her, her phone was confiscated, and her lawyers were not allowed to see her until the early hours of the following day.

“At that point, it felt like I was being held against my will. I asked again what’s going on and when can I see my lawyer. I was then told I have to be interrogated,” Brittney added.

During her grilling by the prosecuting counsel, the Phoenix Mercury and a two-time Olympic gold medalist was asked if she had pleaded guilty to drug smuggling, and she answered: “I do understand charges against me, I do take responsibility for them being in my bag, but I didn’t plan on bringing anything to Russia.”

Her next hearing is scheduled for August 2, 2022, and as the world awaits the outcome and watches on, we would like to ask this important question again:

Now, if Washington can truly get Brittney and any other citizen detained in Russia quickly, why has President Biden been dragging his feet over the matter since February?

A note in passing to everyone as we conclude this now, though: Again, we must mention that having played for quite a while in Russia during the WNBA off-seasons, Brittney must have already known the laws of the nation she frequently visited.

If she had been careful enough to ensure that she didn’t pack any contrabands – prescribed, mistakenly, or not – in her luggage, we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now, and the whole world would be berating Russia over Ukraine only, but, oh well…

Embattled American basketball star Brittney Griner appeared briefly in court for her drug trial in Russia on July 26, 2022. Still, her scheduled testimony was moved forward to July 27, 2022, by her defense team, who requested that the athlete be given a little more time to prepare for her testimony.

Speaking to the media after the court session, one of her lawyers, Alexander Boykov, said: “Griner will testify tomorrow, and after that, it’s her decision whether she answers any questions or not.”

Her defense team remains firm on their argument that the cannabis oil found in her luggage was for medicinal purposes, and prosecutors will reportedly also have an opportunity to question her when she takes to the stands.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist, who made a brief court appearance at the Khimki court of the Moscow region where her defense team presented evidence, also had a lovely message for her wife, Cherelle. The latter reportedly recently graduated from law school.

The witness, a narcologist named Mikhail Tetyushkin, told the court that, based on the WNBA player’s prescription, it is likely she used the cannabis oil found in her luggage for medical purposes rather than recreational purposes.

Brittney, who had arrived in court holding up two photographs in a clear, plastic sleeve, said they were photos of her wife, two best friends, and teammates.

According to him, “medical cannabis is a popular treatment specifically among athletes in many countries outside Russia.”

Mikhail told the court that there is no global standard on the quantity of cannabinoids in medical marijuana while also educating the court about how athletes use it to treat chronic pain. He added that its frequent use or abuse could have side effects for a professional, like relaxation and inhibition of reaction times, and Brittney does not have any of these symptoms.

Another member of Brittney’s legal team, Maria Blagovolina, also argued that the initial report from the prosecution’s expert witness was “inconsistent and not according to scientific and legal standards.”

The two-time Olympic gold medalist also had a lovely message for her wife, Cherelle, who reportedly recently graduated from law school.

Blagovolina said the report from the prosecution’s expert witness did not determine the quantitative content of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in the cannabis oil found in Griner’s luggage. THC is the principal psychoactive substance in cannabis.

When the hearing concluded, Blagovolina said Tetyushkin “explained that in various countries — namely in the US — medical cannabis is a popular treatment specifically among athletes.”

“Thus, with the prescription in place, Brittney may have used it for medical but not recreational purposes,” Blagovolina added.

This latest hearing is the WNBA star’s 5th in her ongoing criminal trial which is reportedly expected to be concluded “early next month” (August), according to her lawyers. The US Embassy Charge d’Affaires Elizabeth Rood was in attendance during today’s court session.

Some shocking facts were again mentioned during the recent hearing, and it raises an alarming prospect and question in our minds:

This admission is as bewildering as it is baffling, and it surely gives us a strong feeling that something fishy seems to be in play here. Sadly, her legal team is either part of the plot, or they’re simply too naive about how dirty Russians can play when they are bent on getting something!

According to reports, during a recent survey of the rate of successful convictions in the Russian legal system, it was discovered that over 98% of every case where the defendant pleaded guilty always ended in a conviction against them, as their plea is firmly counted as an admission of guilt and any other factors are waved aside.

Do those Russian attorneys who allegedly recommended that Brittney plead guilty to the drug charges against her not know this fact – which is impossible, by the way – or what exactly is going on in her case?

A statement released by her lawyers today said: “Brittney sets an example of being brave. She decided to take full responsibility for her actions as she knows that she is a role model for many people.

Considering the nature of her case, the insignificant amount of the substance, and BG’s personality and history of positive contributions to global and Russian sport, the defense hopes that the court will consider the plea as a mitigating factor and there will be no severe sentence.”

Will this “hope” of theirs be enough to rescue the WNBA star from what is starting to look like a trap she’s fallen into already, or will she be convicted and sentenced to a torturous 10 years in a Russian hell hole? We will bring you more updates after her testimony and hearing on July 27, 2022.

Vital Question And Points As ISWAP Reportedly Threatens To Abduct President Buhari And El- Rufai “By The Grace Of God!”

The reported extremist and military arm of the Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram, known as The Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP), recently boldly threatened that they would abduct and hold the Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai hostage, and alarmingly, nothing has been done about it by the Nigerian government!

The ISWAP terrorists, reportedly responsible for the abduction of the Abuja-Kaduna train passengers, made the threat as they bragged on a video that is currently making the rounds on social media, where they were seen flogging the abducted victims mercilessly.

The Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP), recently boldly threatened that they would abduct and hold the Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai hostage!

One of the terrorists who spoke in the Hausa Language allegedly said: “This is our message to the government of Nigeria, and just as you have seen these people here, by God’s grace, you will see your leaders; your senators, and governors will come before us.

These ones you are seeing here, we will keep some as our slaves and sell them off just as our Imam told you in the past. Just like the Chibok girls that were sold off, we will equally sell these ones as slaves.

If you don’t adhere to our demands, we will kill the ones we need to kill and sell the remaining. By God’s grace, El-Rufai, Buhari, we will bring you here.”

The Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP), has had an unchecked and free reign of terror in Nigeria since Buhari assumed office as President in 2015.

These were the same Chibok girls that this Buhari and APC administration vigorously used to campaign against former President Goodluck Jonathan and promised they would be rescued “within the first few months” of their tenure if given a chance to rule!

Alas, not only did they never keep that promise, but now even they are being brazenly threatened with abduction and slavery, and this brings a troubling question to mind:

It is not bad enough that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had boldly decided to break not only a long-standing democratic tradition of having running mates from the two major religious beliefs in the country but also appoint a well-known alleged Boko Haram sponsor and supporter in Kashim Shettima.

Now they’ve taken it up a notch, as things have degenerated so bad that a terrorist group operating with an alarmingly free rein in the country is now brazenly threatening to kidnap the president, and many days after, nothing has been done about it!

Yet, the likes of Nnamdi Kanu, Sunday Igbowo, and many others like them never dared such before they were hunted down like dogs, even to other countries, branded traitors, terrorists, and threats to national security, and slammed behind bars indefinitely by this same President Muhammadu Buhari!

As things stand presently, we can’t help but wonder: What is it about Boko Haram and all its branches that have been so sacred for Buhari and his administration to touch? It’s easy to add 2 and 2 together in their case and arrive at the usual 4, but we don’t want to be seen as jumping the gun here.

The APC boldly decided to break a long-standing democratic tradition of having running mates from the two major religious beliefs in the country, and also appointed a well-known alleged Boko Haram sponsor and supporter, Kashim Shettima as their VP candidate.

Hence the rhetorical question: Is there something the APC and this administration are not telling us about these terrorists and bandits that have totally and so freely overrun Nigeria since they came into power? Or, how else can anyone justify a terrorist group, reportedly camped in already known locations in the country, threatening to abduct and hold the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria hostage? Yet, no military action has been taken against them for over 48 hours?! What could be more treasonable and warrant even a state of emergency than this?!

Dear Muhammadu Buhari and the APC, please make it make sense to Nigerians and the rest of the world who are watching and seeing all you’re doing…please!

And, for Nigerians living in the country, we can only hope and pray that may greed, poverty mentality, and avarice not kill many of you because we can never understand how any sane person could have witnessed all these evil done by Buhari and the APC for over 7 years now, and still be drumming up support for them and any candidates they present!

Major Question Arises As China Reportedly Threatens Military Action Against The USA Over Taiwan

The President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, has stated that the US Military thinks it is not a good idea right now for U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to visit Taiwan in August 2022, as planned.

US President Joe Biden, has stated that the US Military thinks it is not a good idea right now for U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to visit Taiwan in August 2022, as planned.

President Biden also disclosed that he intends to speak with President Xi Jinping of China by the end of July, and he reportedly appeared to cast doubt on the proposed trip to Taiwan by Pelosi.

This comes in the wake of reports that China recently issued stark private warnings to Biden’s administration about the planned visit, citing that Beijing sees it as an attempt to undermine its sovereignty.

President Xi Jinping’s administration has threatened possible military action against the US if Nancy Pelosi visits Taiwan.

Six people reportedly familiar with the warnings from China have also warned that these new threats are significantly more potent than any threats Beijing has made in the past. Apparently, this is not the first time that China has been unhappy with American policies and actions on Taiwan because China has laid claims to the island nation as its territory.

According to reports, there could be a military response by China if Pelosi insists on visiting, as a statement allegedly released by the Chinese foreign ministry says: “Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan would seriously undermine China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the United States would bear the consequences of our response.”

The U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi had planned to visit Taiwan in August 2022.

Further reports also hold that China has been seeking to bully Taiwan’s democratically elected government into becoming a Chinese colony by stepping up military activity around the small island nation. However, the government of Taiwan has reportedly declared that, as much as they want peace, all 23 million of its people won’t hesitate to defend themselves if China attacks them.

Neither the Chinese foreign ministry nor the White House National Security Council and the State Department has issued any further comments on this very tense situation, and one cannot but wonder:

If the Chinese attack either Taiwan or takes military action against the US if Pelosi visits as planned, it would trigger retaliation that would spiral out of hand and start a full-blown war worldwide.

No matter how powerful or mighty a nation’s military is, there is no wisdom or sense in deliberately provoking or starting a war with any other country.

Major Observations As The Russia v.s USA Standoff Continues With Brittney Griner’s Trial Resuming On July 26

Imprisoned American WNBA superstar Brittney Griner is set to resume her trial in a Russian court on July 26, 2022, as the athlete seeks to escape a possible 10-year prison sentence for alleged drug trafficking.

Brittney, 31, was arrested as she went through Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport in February 2022, after Russian authorities reportedly found vape canisters containing cannabis oil in her luggage. The Olympic gold medalist and seven-time All-Star basketball player earns extra money during the WNBA offseason by playing in Russia.

Recall that the basketball star entered a guilty plea to drug possession charges in a reported bid to get a reduced sentence on July 7, 2022. Many international observers say this does not bode well for the American athlete. However, the question remains: Should she even have to take a plea or be detained in the first place, seeing how her recent claims state that the vape is for medicinal purposes?

Reports from Washington hold that the Biden administration strongly condemns the athlete’s arrest and detention and has classified her as “wrongfully detained.” Yet, no visible concrete moves have been made to secure her release from her Russian captors.

Brittney entered a guilty plea to drug possession charges on July 7, 2022, and many observers believe this could do more harm than any good for her in the long run.

President Biden reportedly signed an executive order last week which allows an increased flow of information to families of Americans detained abroad. The order also looks to impose sanctions on government officials, criminals, or terrorists holding them captive, but it has done little or nothing to move Moscow on Brittney’s case.

From a majority of the developments and speculations on her case since her last court date a few weeks ago, we’ve recently observed two major things about this saga. We want to share them with you as she returns to court again in Russia tomorrow.

Paul Nicholas Whelan is an alleged corporate security director arrested in Russia on December 28, 2018, and accused of spying. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison with the possibility of time in a labor camp on June 15, 2020.

If everything the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, reportedly disclosed to the media recently is anything to go by, Moscow has its agenda concerning this case against Brittney, and they do not give a damn if it sits well with the Americans or not.

While allegedly stating recently that the athlete’s arrest, detention, and ongoing trial were all well justified, Maria also reportedly lashed out at American officials who alleged that Brittney’s “charges were boosted” and her arrest was unjust.

From all indications, Moscow has its agenda concerning the case against Brittney, and they do not give a damn if it sits well with the Americans or not.

An irritated Maria also reportedly said that the rest of the world is not obliged to follow in America’s footsteps if they have decriminalized marijuana and want “the whole country to become drug addicts.”

“If a U.S. citizen was taken in connection with the fact that she was smuggling drugs, and she does not deny this, then this should be commensurate with our Russian local laws and not with those adopted in San Francisco, New York, and Washington,” she added.

Russia’s stand is now crystal clear in this case, and it looks more likely that the court would seek a conviction against the American basketball star. To what ends, though, we cannot but ask? But this leads us to our second observation about this saga recently.

(2) An international prisoner exchange is shaping to go down, but do the pros justify the cons for Washington?

The White House has said severally that it is working tirelessly to bring Brittney home and is pursuing every possible option. With the possibility of the athlete being sentenced to a 10-year prison term in a Russian hell-hole, it looks like Washington may finally be considering the release of a dreaded arms dealer, Viktor Bout, widely known as the merchant of death.

Viktor would likely be exchanged for Brittney and another American, Paul Whelan, and Viktor’s legal representative, Steve Zissou, has reportedly expressed confidence that Moscow would be open to making the exchange. Of course, they would be!

Although neither Washington nor the Kremlin has made any official statements regarding a swap arrangement, we believe that an internationally renowned terrorist for a pair of regular American citizens is way too much of a loss for Washington, unless there’s something about Paul Whelan that is “classified” from the public.

According to reports, a bipartisan resolution introduced by Senators Mark Kelly and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona in the United States Senate called for the United States to push for their release in all interactions with Russia. The resolution also demands that Russia provide the WNBA star with consular access as she remains in custody. Brittney has now been detained for 158 days as of July 25, 2022.

Whether or not the Russian government will heed or respect any of these demands and requests remains to be seen, and we’re all set to witness the next move in this chess game of power when the basketball star’s trial resumes on July 26, 2022.

Sadly, though, Tosin’s winning time in the final will reportedly not be recognized as a world record because of a “strong following win of 2.5 metres per second.” She was, however, awarded a $100,000 cash prize for her remarkable feat.
